The Simple Way that How to Distinguish the Quality of BOPP Tape

Since the semi-finished BOPP packing tape jumbo roll is the basis for the daily sealing tape produced, the quality of the tape is re  lated to the operation of the entire processing plant.

Here is the simple way that how to distinguish the quality of the semi-finished BOPP packing tape jumbo roll:

1. Smell it: The tape jumbo roll with good quality adhesive does not have so much bad smell, if the tape has a considerable sour odor, that is mean the tape coated with bad quality adhesive.

2. Look at the color: The color of good quality tape jumbo roll looks in light yellow, indicating that there are few impurities, high purity, and the corresponding toughness is large. But if it looks in dark yellow, that’s mean the quality of BOPP material is poor.

3. Test the tensile strength: Unwind a part of the tape and pull it by hand to see if it can withstand strong pulling.

4. Test the adhesion: Cut a part of tape and paste it on the carton and then tear it off, if you see the carton paper skin is torn off together with the tape, that proves the adhesion of the tape is good. Please remember not to use the palm to test the adhesion of the tape, be sure to test on the carton.

5. Check  the thickness of tape: The thickness of the tape generally range from 38u to 60u. We use tape thickness less than 50u as general purpose application, and if we need to seal heavy package it is better to use the tape thickness over than 50u, we call that high quality application.
